My Story
Hi friends! If you’re here and you are taking the time to read this I am going to consider you a friend! My name is Andrea and I am a wife, mother, daughter, sister, friend, pastor to some and preacher whenever I can! I most definitely consider it a privilege and an honor to serve in the local church alongside my husband Andy. We are parents to three great kids, the youngest of which you will find pictured in the dictionary next to “Strong-willed.” My husband and I are learning and growing together, discovering how the Holy Spirit can work through us to equip and encourage people. We never expected to be in ministry but through obedience and seeking the Lord, here we are! After some difficult and challenging personal circumstances, we have learned being fully submitted to the Lord is the ONLY way it makes sense to live life. That, and we love Jesus a lot.
I am a self-described “PK” (pastor’s kid), I grew up in a parsonage (pastor’s house on the church property) seeing the good, bad, ugly, and beautiful of church. Some of you may remember the 90s and the rapid change of culture alongside a rapidly changing church. Unfortunately, I grew up not really knowing the power of Jesus or the power of the cross. So, I sought a better way to do church, following church leaders who were “emergent” and then later “progressive.” I didn’t have a road to Damascus moment, but rather I experienced a slow shift of seeing the Lord revealed more and more through seeking Him, eventually falling away from those movements. Time after time, I saw the faithfulness and goodness of the Lord. Now, I live my life to share that same discovery with others. I am passionate about theology, truth, and how our beliefs about God shape who we are.
I live to see a church worship in Spirit and in Truth! I preach and write primarily around biblical truth and culture. One day I hope to travel and speak to the global church, but in my current season I am serving the local church with a lot of help from Holy Spirit and a little extra from my daily coffee. (W/Almond milk no sugar please, a Honey Almond Flat White or Pumpkin Spice when necessary!). Thanks for being here!
